LUNENBURG- Phyllis J. (Romano) Catorio, 90, of Lunenburg, died Monday, December 18, at Leominster Hospital, after a brief illness.
Phyllis was born February 10, 1933, in Milford, CT, daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie M. (Zaremba) Romano. She graduated from Leominster High School. She was a homemaker while raising her children. Prior to her retirement in 2003, she is fondly remembered as the lunch lady for over 30 years at Lunenburg High School where countless students were beneficiaries of her baking skills. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to music and Drew Carey on The Price is Right.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Catorio, who died February 3, 1994, her daughter, Janeia Catorio who died December 7, 1971, her granddaughter, Sara Catorio who died December 13, 1980, and her brother, Ronald Storro.
She leaves her three sons, Philip Catorio and wife Patricia of Leominster, Michael Catorio and wife Pamela of Gardner and Christopher Catorio of Lunenburg; two grandchildren, Michael Catorio and wife Lanie of Stoughton and Shelby Catorio of Lowell; three great grandchildren, Ava Catorio and Cody Catorio, both of Stoughton and Isabella Gagnon of Dracut; her lifelong best friend, Roberta Steinmetz; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 22, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. Burial will follow at St. Leo’s Cemetery.
