Ralph Geddes Sr. Obituary

Ralph D. Geddes Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 4, 1942 in Quincy, MA. However, Ralph's journey began in Avondale, Arizona, and he would go on to touch the lives of all who knew him with his wisdom, kindness, and intelligence.

Ralph was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Jane Geddes of Lakeville, MA, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. He was a beacon of strength and love to his children, Patti Nelson and husband Ernie of Kingman, AZ, Ralph Geddes Jr. of Kingman, AZ, Kirk Geddes and wife Jessica of Leominster, Kent Geddes of Fitchburg, Katie Geddes of Leominster, and Kyle Geddes and husband DJ of Thompson, CT. His stepdaughters, Lisa, Rachel, and Christina, also held a special place in his heart. Ralph's legacy continues through his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, each of whom he adored and who will miss him dearly.

Before settling into retirement in Wickenburg, AZ, Ralph's life was marked by dedication and service. From 1962 to 1981, he proudly served his country in the Army as a cook and communication security specialist, a role in which he excelled and earned the respect of his peers. After his military career, he transitioned into the civilian sector as an electronic engineer, demonstrating his intelligence and commitment to excellence. Ralph retired in 2017 from IET Labs Inc in West Roxbury, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and mentorship.

His true passions, however, were found outside of work. Ralph was never happier than when he was camping under the stars, cooking a meal for his loved ones, tending to his garden, or simply spending quality time with his family. These simple pleasures brought him immense joy and provided cherished memories for his family.

The Geddes family takes comfort in knowing that Ralph is now reunited with his parents, Frank and Lucy Geddes, his sister Alice Conteras, and his nephew Timothy Contreras, who all predeceased him. His memory will be a treasure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Ralph D. Geddes Sr. lived a life full of purpose and love, and his absence will be deeply felt. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible impact he made on each of us.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 26 in St. Leo Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be held at a later date.
