Raymond L. Melodino

LEOMINSTER --- Raymond L. Melodino, 91 years old of Leominster, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 peacefully at home.

Raymond was born April 22, 1930 in Leominster MA. the son of Andrew and Josephine (Bruno) Melodino, and was a lifelong resident of Leominster.  Ray enlisted and served in the U.S. Army.  After being honorably discharged in 1948, Ray worked at ITT Surpernaut and later PJ Keating Company.  In 1964 he became a Firefighter for the City of Leominster, Central Street Fire Station - Ladder 2 - Engine 2.  Ray was a longtime member of The Leominster Sportsmen’s Club and was an avid hunter and fisher.  He also enjoyed bowling, working on cars, crossword puzzles, and going to the casino.  

Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved reminiscing about the "good old days" and sharing stories of his younger years with his family and friends.

Ray was predeceased by his loving wife Nancy Marie (Merchant) Melodino his wife of 60 years, 2 sisters, Yolanda Melodino, and Julia LaFreniere, and his brother John Louis Melodino.

Ray leaves behind his daughter Lauri R. Marrama and her partner Troy Hebert of Leominster, 2 sons Andrew Melodino and his wife Ching of Leominster and Raymond L. Melodino Jr. of New Hampshire, 4 grandchildren, Ryan Bilodeau, Logan Marrama, Hailey Melodino, and Leah Melodino, and his longtime friend and caregiver David Bilodeau.

Calling hours for Ray will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4 – 6 pm, at the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster.  Private Burial at MA. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon MA at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
