Rebecca “Becky” Gerry, 71, of Gardner, passed away at her home November 9, 2024 after a long illness. She was born January 25, 1953, the daughter of the late Arthur Marean and Lillian (Brown) Marean-Harvey.
Becky was born in Gardner and attended Gardner schools, graduating from Gardner High School in 1971. In school she was a proud member of the marching band. She earned two associate degrees from Mount Wachusett Community College.
Becky will be missed by her children Patrick and Lauren Gerry and her grandson Cruz Castillo, as well as, many friends, cousins and former students. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Michael Gerry and her eldest child Amy Gerry.
When her children were young, Becky chose to learn the monument business from her father-in-law and went on to operate Gerry Granite Works for over twenty years. Later in life she gained a fondness for computer graphic design and taught web design at MWCC for many years. She could often be found volunteering to help out in her children's activities and spent several years as a Girl Scout leader.
Since she was a young girl, Becky loved spending time on Cape Cod. She especially enjoyed the beaches and the sunsets over the bay. She enjoyed bird watching, whether on the Cape or at home. She liked taking pictures and almost always had a camera with her, long before smart phones. Her greatest joy of all was being a grandma and spending time with her family. Becky loved and was loved by her family immensely. She will be profoundly missed.
Burial will be private.
Those who wish to honor Becky’s memory may make a donation to any dementia or Alzheimer's research organization of their choosing.
