Richard P. Gauvin, 77, of Leominster, died Monday, March 3, at UMass Medical Center, after an illness. Richard was born June 27, 1947, in Leominster, son of the late Leo and Edna (Phillips) Gauvin.
The common thread of Richard’s life would be service. Richard served in the Air Force National Guard for six years. He spent countless hours volunteering. He was very active in the Scouts and was Pack Master of Pack 38 and Scout Master for Troop 447. He also coached Little League. Richard dedicated over 40 years volunteering with Emergency Management. He worked for Miles Kedex for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Diane (Miles) Gauvin and his brother, Brother Paul Gauvin. He leaves two sons, Douglas and wife, Jessie Gauvin and Daniel and Sarah Gauvin; four grandchildren, Amelia Gauvin, Zachary Racicot, Cassidy Harty and Courtney Harty; three great grandchildren, Chase Racicot, Connor Truehart and Kinsley Racicot; his cousin, Craig Pierce and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday, March 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 11, at 11:00 A.M. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 26 West St., Leominster. Kindly go directly to Church. Burial will be private.
