Richard Michael Guertin, affectionately known as Mike to his friends and loved ones, was born on March 25, 1969, and passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2025.
Mike grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School in 1987. He went on to study biology at Fitchburg State and Salem State College. For the past 26 years, he worked as a dedicated clerk for the United States Postal Service, where he connected with his customers and brightened their days with friendly conversation.
Mike was known for his strength, perseverance, courage, and unmistakable sense of humor. He was a natural storyteller—always ready with a funny anecdote, clever joke, or curious fact to share. As a child, he created many fond memories on road trips with his family. In more recent years, he enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting the Cape, and savoring a good slice of pizza—with obligatory red pepper flakes. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mike loved both playing and watching games, especially when “wagertainment” was involved.
Above all, those who knew Mike remember his warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous heart. He will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In honor of Mike’s love of good food and great company, please join us for a toast to his life on Monday, July 28th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Great American Beer Hall, located at 142 Mystic Ave in Medford, Massachusetts.
