Richard A. Tuttle, Sr., passed away suddenly on January 19, 2026, in Leominster, MA, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and craftsmanship. Born in Sturbridge, MA on January 12, 1948, to the late Norman Tuttle and Pauline (Stevens) Tuttle, Richard's life was a testament to the joys of simple pleasures and the strength of family bonds.
Richard was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. Tuttle of Leominster. Their enduring marriage of 59 years was a beacon of devotion and companionship. Although predeceased by his son Richard A. Tuttle Jr., Richard's love and lessons continue to thrive in his surviving son, Maurice Brassard and daughter-in-law, Julie Drummond of Berlin, MA. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Sharron Ingemi of Gardner, MA; his brother, Creag Tuttle and his wife of Leominster and his sister, Cindy Valley of Spencer, MA. His nieces, nephews, and five cherished grandchildren will forever hold onto the memories of their time with him.
As an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots, he shared many a game with friends and family, cheering on his favorite teams with passion and enthusiasm. His professional life in construction allowed him to work closely with his sons before he retired in 2010, building not just structures but also strong familial foundations.
Beyond his work, Richard's true passion lay in restoring furniture. His ability to take something worn and make it beautiful again was a metaphor for his approach to life—seeing the potential in the overlooked and bringing out its best. In his younger days, Richard's love for the outdoors was evident in his motorcycle riding, hunting, and fishing adventures.
Richard's passing is a profound loss, and he will be dearly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit and loving nature. Richard A. Tuttle, Sr.'s story is one of a life well-lived, filled with the joy of shared experiences, the pride of meaningful work, and the warmth of a loving family.
