Robert W. Early, 85, of Leominster, died Monday, March 4, at Life Care Center of Leominster after an illness.
Robert was born October 24, 1938, in Boston, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Sedgewick) Early. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1968. Following his military service, Robert began his career as an engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation and then at Microcom.
Robert filled his free time with many activities and hobbies including sailing with his wife on their sailboat, “Second Nature”, country line dancing and wilderness camping. His love of hiking led him to join the Appalachian Mountain Club where he led groups on many adventures.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Marie (Deleuze) Early; seven children, David Early, Robin Jones, Steven Early, Debera Brown, Nathalie Moore, Chris Kychler and Stephane Kychler; twelve grandchildren, Joseph Jones, Joshua Early, Brandon Early, Alicia Jones, Christopher Jones, Stephanie Brown, Justin Brown, Olivia Moore, Ryan Moore, Victoria Kychler, Emily Kychler and Savannah Kychler; three great grandchildren, Colton, Jordan and Victor; and one sister, Dorothy Antonio.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Florence Nickerson, Margaret Jenkins and William Early.
The funeral will be held Friday, March 15, at 12:00 Noon at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. Burial will be private.
