Leominster - Robert T. Howitt, 89 passed away on Sunday, February 4 at the UMASS Memorial Health Alliance. Bob was first baby born at the Washoe General Hospital on April 10, 1934, in Reno, Nevada.
Bob was an accomplished industrial designer, graduating on the dean's list from Pratt Institute in 1956. His illustrious career included many unique consumer products, graphic artwork and packaging both in plastics and other mediums. He enjoyed having his own business, designing and producing client products, together with various forms of personal artwork including mobiles, paintings and 3d pieces along with architecture designing both family homes. Bob's two great loves were golf and jazz attending many golf tournaments and concerts over the years meeting both golf professionals and jazz musicians much to his delight. His golf prowess earned him two hole in one awards in the summer of 2015 in York, Maine, his beloved summer place.
He leaves his treasured wife, Joan B. Wheeler along with two children, a son-in-law and his daughter's favorite border collies.
