Robert Norton Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Robert B. Norton, 56, of Leominster, Massachusetts, who passed
away suddenly on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Born on June 2, 1966, Rob grew up in Weston, Massachusetts. From a young age, Rob was high energy.
There was no obstacle too high or too far that would stop him. His sense of adventure led him outdoors for
hours every day. Whether it be fishing, tadpole catching or hunting at Demains Pond, biking around Weston to
Green Power Farm, Town Pool, Ye Ole Cottage Restaurant or playing wiffleball until the grass had turned to
dust.
While at Minuteman Tech High School, he embraced a new skill most of us appreciated – his cooking. Rob
was happiest when he was in the kitchen cooking up a fabulous meal for many. He saw it as an opportunity to
create new memories with those he loved or an opportunity to make new friends.
He also became a skilled craftsman. Always with a pencil behind his ear, a task list in one hand and a power
tool in the other – he was ready to seize the day. Even if he only made it halfway through his task list, he
would love to have been productive that day, and would happily run down the list of things accomplished. His
appreciation for life would often have him be first one on the dance floor, convincing a crowd to join him or
simply enjoying just watching the sun set on Bonita Beach with loved ones.
He was a natural caretaker, always willing to lend an ear, and offer advice when asked. He taught many
young people his favorite trades and would love to see the spark in their eye when something clicked. He
made you feel like you were the only person in the world when you were speaking with him, with his attention
focused on your conversation. He will be missed by many.
His loyalty to family was unwavering. Allocating his house for years so his parents could snowbird between
Florida and Massachusetts, he spent many afternoons grilling up something special for the entire family.
Whether playing a family pickleball game or jumping onto the basketball court with his brother Tommy, family
gatherings were priceless to him. He would often say “Any day you wake up is a great day. Tomorrow isn’t
promised. Live for today.”
Rob (Robert, Bobby) is survived by his loving partner Michelle Marengo. Rob also leaves his mother, Joy
(Brown) Norton; two sisters, Terry Griffin and Heidi Mosher and her husband Douglas; three nieces, Emma
Griffin, Hayley Norton and Madison Norton; and two nephews, Adam and Timothy Mosher. Rob was pre-
deceased by his father Robert, his brother Tommy, and his brother-in-law, Stanley Griffin, all of whom passed
in 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at
