LEOMINSTER --- Robert F. O’Brien, 73, formerly of Worcester died Sunday March 21, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Aida M. (Viegas) O’Brien of Leominster, daughter Melanie V. O’Brien of Worcester, brother Bruce E. O’Brien and wife Lori of Leicester, sister Jean M. Thompson and husband Gene of Orange Park FL, aunts, an uncle, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Robert was born September 27, 1947 in Worcester, the son of Violet G. Nilsson and Edward L. O’Brien. He graduated from South High School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served 6 years during the Vietnam War. He then went on to become a computer technician ending his career at EMC in Hopkinton, MA. He was a New England Sports Fan, especially the Patriots. He belonged to the Leominster Elks Lodge, a longtime member of the Wilder Masonic Lodge in Leominster and Shriners International.
A private funeral service will be held April 5, 2021 at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice of Leominster, 36 William Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
