Roger J. Girouard

FITCHBURG --- Roger J. Girouard, 91 years old of Fitchburg, died Sunday May 9, 2020 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital.

Roger was born November 27, 1929 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of Philias and Antoinette (Vezina) Girouard, and came to the United States many years ago. He leaves his son, Roger D. Girouard and his wife Patricia of New York, his stepson Frank Conley and his wife Diane of Leominster, his sister Yvette Emery of Florida, grandchildren, Kerry and Jennifer, and his longtime caregiver Jason Conley of Fitchburg.

He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Mariane R. (Simbra) Girouard, in 2008, his daughter Mary Girouard in 2015, three brothers, Emile, Normand, and Ferdinand, and his sister, Jeannette Thomas.

Roger was a truck driver for Keatings for many years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, was a member of the Teamsters Local 170, and the Leominster Franco Vets.

A funeral service with military honors will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 11am, at the Massachusetts Memorial Cemetery, in Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
