Ronald C. Burnap

Ronald C. Burnap, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 5, 2025, in Fitchburg, MA at the age of 78. Born on April 23, 1947, in Leominster, MA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Maryjane (Kemp) Burnap, as well as his beloved wife of 50 years, Lois (Ducharme) Burnap, who left this world in 2019. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with shared laughter and unwavering support. He was also predeceased by his brother, John Burnap of North Carolina, Diane “Slappy” Lomaglio in 2021, and his niece, Karen (Morel) Chick.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly, including his sons, Shane (Jen) Burnap of Fitchburg and Bryan Burnap of Leominster; his daughter, Brandee Burnap and partner Lindsay Roper of Gardner; his sister, Kathryn Morel of Shrewsbury; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Burnap-McGrath of North Carolina and granddaughter, Megan Burnap of Maine as well as many nieces and nephews. Ronald's life was further enriched by the companionship of his Goldendoodle, Harley, whose loyalty and affection provided constant comfort and joy.

A proud graduate of Leominster High School, Ronald went on to build a respected career as an operating engineer with union local 4. He dedicated five years of service as a business agent for Worcester County for local 4, where his leadership and commitment to his colleagues were highly valued. His work not only provided for his family but also left a lasting impact on the community he served.

Outside of his professional life, Ronald was an avid enthusiast of the great outdoors. He relished the time spent camping with his family and canine companions, a testament to his love for nature and the simple joys of life. Ronald's spirit of adventure extended to the open road, where he could be found riding his Harley Davidson trike, feeling the wind in his hair and the freedom of the highway. Ronald was always there to support his children at sporting events and coached Babe Ruth baseball in Fitchburg from 1989-1990.

His zest for life was also evident in his fondness for the excitement of the casino and the nostalgic melodies at oldies concerts, often accompanied by his brother-in-law, Chuck. These moments of leisure were cherished times, creating memories that his family and friends will hold dear. His kindness was a beacon that drew others to him, his loving nature nurtured the bonds he had with those he cared for, and his ability to fix and create was a skill that benefited many. Ronald's hands were rarely still, always busy with a project or lending aid where it was needed.

As we bid farewell to Ronald C. Burnap, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, hard work, and the pursuit of happiness. Ronald will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on, Friday, May 23 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
