Ruth Weeks Obituary

LEOMINSTER---Ruth M. (Martin) Weeks, 93 years old of Leominster, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital with beloved grandchildren Todd and Tracey by her side. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Anderson of Gardner; son Thomas Randall Weeks of Springfield, MO; sisters Carol Wilson and Jacquelyn Wilson both of Oregon; 5 grandchildren Tracey Gauthier, Todd Anderson, Eric Weeks, Melissa Conklin and Zachary Weeks; and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Wilmot L. Weeks in 1999 and her son William M. Weeks in 2016.

Ruth was born April 29, 1924 in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of William and Grace (Bowman) Martin. She lived in Leominster from 1946 until moving to Bradenton, FL in 1985. She returned to Leominster in 2002. She graduated from Amsterdam High School in Ohio, Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing and received her bachelor’s degree from Boston University. Ruth was a registered nurse and had worked at Leominster Hospital for 26 years before retiring in 1979. She spent many years volunteering for the hospital guild when she moved back to Massachusetts. Ruth was a member of the Unitarian Universalist First Church in Leominster.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful nurses in the Leominster Hospital CCU who cared for her in her final days.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 26th at 10 am in the Unitarian Universalist First Church in Leominster, 15 West Street, Leominster. Burial will be private.
