Shari Lemont-Moore Obituary

Shari Lemont-Moore passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 2, 2024, in Leominster, MA at the age of 64. She fought her battle with cancer courageously.

Shari is survived by her mother, Marie Lemont of Fitchburg, MA, her devoted partner, Kenneth White of Leominster, MA, her former husband Michael Moore and his wife Jennifer Gardner of Reading, MA, her sons, Nicholas Moore and his wife, Jaymee Moore of Pepperell, MA and Alexander Moore of Salem, MA. Shari is also survived by her siblings, Richard Lemont and his wife Jerilyn Lemont of Centerville, MA and her sister Nancy Lemont and her partner Joel Arnold of Leominster, MA. Shari also leaves behind many cousins and close friends along with her two grandchildren, Kea and Thomas, who she adored.

Shari was born on September 24,1959 in Waltham, MA. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1977. A few years later, Shari obtained her nursing license from Middlesex Community College, graduating in 1988. After graduating as a registered nurse, Shari spent most of her career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts advocating for residents of long-term care facilities to ensure they were provided quality care and treated with respect and dignity. She was hardworking and her knowledge and expertise were relied on by all those who worked with her. She will be greatly missed by those who called her a friend both inside and outside of work.

Shari and Kenny were soulmates in every sense of the word. Whether hiking a remote trail in a National Park or simply enjoying a glass of wine together on their front porch, they cherished just being in each other’s company. Together they enjoyed cruising, snorkeling, bird watching, visiting the National Parks, sitting out under the stars and spending time with friends and family. Shari was always willing to try something new. Together, with Kenny, they explored caves and lava tubes, they hiked alpine lakes and glaciers and explored numerous remote wilderness areas. They both overcame their fear of heights on these many adventurous trails. While traveling, many a day would end with a craft beer or glass of wine while they held each other’s hand. Shari’s kind, gentle, intelligent spirit will be terribly missed by all who loved her.

Shari had many roles within her family and community, but her favorite was perhaps as a mother to her two children Nicholas and Alex. She particularly enjoyed holiday activities with them, including making family Halloween costumes, carving pumpkins, and decorating an extravagant Christmas tree. She prided herself on her ornament collections which included pieces from all her travels. The highlight of her summer was often her family trip to Pittsburg, New Hampshire with her partner Kenny White, her two sons, and her daughter-in law Jaymee. She had a passion for nature and the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed them with her family. Her favorite spot in the region was Third Connecticut Lake. She immensely loved the time she was able to have with her grandchildren Thomas and Kea.
