Sharlene Aubuchon Obituary

Sharlene Mae (Booth) Aubuchon, 88, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023. Sharlene was born on November 13, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Thelma (Townsend) Booth and was a lifelong resident of Leominster.

Sharlene is predeceased by her husband, Donald P. Aubuchon and by a grandson Max Aubuchon. She was loving mother to son Daniel Aubuchon of Indian Wells, CA, who stayed very involved in her life with frequent summers spent in New England, to son David Aubuchon of Sagamore Beach, MA, who was very close with her, especially as her needs grew in her later years and to daughter, Donna Madden. She was the proud grandmother to Haley Aubuchon-Jones and her wife Nina, Chloe Aubuchon and Colin Aubuchon, all of Boston and to Sara and Sean Madden. She also leaves her sister Luann S. Hume of Fitchburg, MA.

Sharlene worked as a telephone operator and as a manager at a dry cleaner, but was primarily a stay-at-home mom, raising her children and taking care of her family. She was an amazing caregiver to her husband for many years as he dealt with difficult illness, taking care of his needs while never making it seem like a burden.

Sharlene was a staple of the community and involved in Friends of Barret Park and active in many political campaigns. She liked nothing better than getting to know a candidate and then volunteering to do whatever it took to get them elected. As her children grew, she became very active in Northwest LL baseball as she would lead her family in marching up the street to ensure that the fields were clean, marked and ready for game time, then would run the concessions booth for the duration of the night.

She had numerous friends and knew many people in Leominster and was proud of being in her house on Campbell Ave for 57 years. She made great effort to stay in touch with all her old high school friends taking on the responsibility of being a member of her Class of 1952 reunion committee. Sharlene had a warmth and kindness that made people feel good about themselves and was an extremely giving person. She never had a bad word for anyone and was a pleasure to be around.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 15,2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster, MA. A funeral service on Thursday, March 16th at the funeral home will begin at 9:30 am followed by burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA.

Sharlene was a big supporter of veterans and had a deep love for dogs so in lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions can be made in her name to K9’s for Warriors – www.donate.k9sforwarriors.org.
