Theresa Augat (Dovidio) 01/25/1959 ~ 10/10/2023
Theresa D. Augat -- Loving mother, grandmother, and adoring wife, passed away at age 64 in the early hours of October 10th, 2023, surrounded by family after a lengthy and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born January 25th, 1959, in Leominster to (predeceased) Saverio Dovidio and Pasqualina Dovidio (Pellegrini). She graduated from Leominster High School in 1977 and went on to marry the love of her life William R Augat III in 1979 and started a family in 1983. Theresa was a devout and active member of the Roman Catholic church as a eucharistic minister, CCD instructor, fundraiser, and took part in multiple retreats. Nature advocate and lover of animals Theresa loved to garden and worked her dream job as a vet tech with the Southlake Animal Clinic (Southlake, TX) and rescued every injured animal she came across. An accomplished traveler, she toured Europe extensively including pilgrimages to see the Vatican and other holy sites in Jerusalem and a controversial trip to Bethlehem that she was particularly proud of. With her family, she also spent time living in both Wales (Bonvilston) and Puerto Rico.
Her love and dedication to her family was her highest priority -- both as a parent and grandparent. She took an active role as both a Cub Scout pack leader and was a leading coach for an Odyssey of the Mind team that she led to win the 1999 New Jersey state championships and place 6th at the World Championship in Tennessee. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whether it was doing arts and crafts, attending sporting events for Atlas or dance recitals for Sloane.
Theresa is survived by her husband William R Augat III, her son Craig S. Augat and his partner Heather Halbach, daughter Lindsey Homan (Augat) and her husband Blake Homan and their children Atlas Homan and Sloane Homan, stepson Scott Augat and his wife Emma Augat Saperstein as well as her sisters Maria Iacabone-Owens, Joanna Dovidio, and Lucia Lopez and her husband Louis Lopez as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Theresa spread warmth and compassion wherever she went, and we will carry her radiance with us wherever we go.
