Theresa E. (Montaquila) Vargo

Theresa E. Vargo, age 93, passed away on March 22, 2026, at Life Care Center of Leominster, after a period of declining health. Terry was born on June 22, 1932, in Leominster, MA, to Gaetano and Rose (Montaquila) Montaquila. She was the eleventh of thirteen children. She graduated from Leominster High School, Class of 1950, and enjoyed many class reunions with her classmates.

Theresa is survived by her son, Dr. Frank E. Vargo and his wife, Cindy Pirro Vargo, of Leominster. She also leaves her granddaughter, Erica Arsenault and her husband, Jacob, of Ashburnham, and their children, Grace and Isaac. She leaves her last surviving sister, Antonetta Vegar of Washington. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband since May 16, 1953, Francis E. Vargo, who died March 2, 2020. Also predeceasing her were her son, David G. Vargo, in August 2017, and her daughter-in-law, Genevieve L. Vargo, in March 2017. She was also predeceased by her brothers Dominic, Peter, John, and Anthony, and sisters Camilla, Mary, Lee, Julie, Yolanda, Gloria, and Philomena.

Terry was a longtime employee of Tucker Manufacturing in payroll and bookkeeping positions as well as running the credit union. She was a lifelong member of St. Anna’s Parish as well as an active member of the Ladies Sodality, and a Eucharistic Minister. Terry attained a lifelong dream when she visited the Holy Sites in Israel. Family was the center of her life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had many lifelong friends and close friendships she developed over the years through work and church, whom she cherished.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Life Care Center of Leominster for the outstanding care they provided Theresa over the past seven years.

Theresa's funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 10am at St. Anna Church, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo Cemetery Leominster. Calling hours will be held in Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., on  Friday, March 27 from 5 ~ 7pm.
