Thomas "Tom" Wilfred Belliveau, 76, of Leominster, Massachusetts, passed away on February 15, 2024. He was born on June 6, 1947, to Wilfred and Helen Belliveau in Leominster, MA.
Tom, as he was affectionately known, bravely served in Vietnam after graduating from high school. His fellow troops regarded him as the "best guy I've ever had as a buddy," a testament to his dependable and loyal nature. Upon returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Betty Petersen, and they shared 53 beautiful years of marriage. They were married in a small ceremony on March 19, 1971. He was a hard worker, spending most of his career as a dedicated steelworker and foreman at Simonds Saw. In addition to his full-time job he was a proud small business owner, carpet cleaning for over 20 years.
In his spare time and well into retirement, Tom was passionate about fishing. He spent countless hours on his Bass boat, creating cherished memories with friends on the Connecticut River, his favorite fishing spot. Don’t forget the “ice coffee and old fashion donut”! Tom’s welcoming nature and quick wit made him a beloved companion to all who knew him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Betty Belliveau, his children Julie Grace, Kriss Carlin, and Lori Belliveau, and his brother John Belliveau. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 27, 2024, at 10am, at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Winchendon. (111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in his honor to North East Bass Association, which runs charity fishing events in Massachusetts (www.nebass.com).
