LEOMINSTER --- Vilma A. Perla, 90, a lifelong Leominster resident, passed away peacefully at home Monday, February 4, 2019, on her birthday.
Vilma was born February 4, 1929, in Leominster MA, the daughter of Edna (Ciccolini) and Francesco Perla. She leaves her sister-in-law Grace Perla and nephews and nieces, Diane Martin and her husband Donald, Frank Perla and his wife Michele, Teresa Gionet and her husband Mark, Lynn Fox and husband Josh. She is also survived by great nephews and nieces, Adam Martin, Nicole Ouellette and her husband Jesse, Lauren Gionet, Rachele Perla and Bryan Perla. She leaves a great-great grandniece, Elena Ouellette and many cousins. Doris Yeboah, her caregiver, held a very special place in Vilma’s heart.
Vilma was predeceased by her brother Joseph Perla, and by her two sisters, Dolores Perla and Rita Lavallee.
Vilma was employed at Tilton & Cook Company from 1946 - 1948, Cluett & Peabody (Arrow Co) from 1948 - 1963, Independent Lock Company from 1964 - 1968, Richard J. LaVigne, MD, from 1968 - 1980, and as a secretary at Nashoba Valley Radiological Associates from 1968 - 1994, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Anna Parish in Leominster, and the St. Anna Society. Vilma loved vacationing with her family and extended family in Wells, Maine.
Vilma’s funeral will be held on Saturday, February 9th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster, with a 1:00 pm funeral mass in St. Anna Parish, 194 Lancaster St. Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Carol Seager Associates for providing compassionate care at home.
