LEOMINSTER --- Walter “Rick” Turner, age 67, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully in his home after a tough bout with cancer on October 20, 2023. In his last moments he was surrounded by his children and loving and supportive wife, Pamela (Testa) Turner, daughter of Dominic Testa and the late Claire Testa.
He was born in Leominster, MA on August 24, 1956, to Walter and Erna Turner, whose families were early pioneers in the local machining and plastics processing industries. Rick, eventually took the reins of his family business early-on after suffering the loss of his own father. He was a brilliant machinist, business owner and factory Engineer who was known for his problem solving and technical abilities, alongside which he had many hobbies and interests including muscle cars, motorcycling, snowmobiling, RC cars, sailing, water skiing and boating on Spec Pond. He leaves behind a legacy of providing opportunities for so many employees, caring and giving so much to his friends and family, and bestowing his knowledge upon his children. Rick will always be remembered for his intelligence, adventurous spirit, and the unwavering love and care to his friends and family.
Rick is survived by his amazing and supportive wife Pamela Turner, his loving children Josh and Amanda Benner, Mike and Jackie Turner, Ricky and Kate Turner and Kyle and Jen Turner, and nine beautiful grandchildren; Kyla, Dominic and Grayson Benner; Wilder and Claire Turner; Dexter, Wes and Luci Turner; Brooklyn and soon to be Maci Turner. He was known as “Beepa” to his grandchildren and will be forever loved and missed by them. Rick is also survived by his father-in- law Dominic Testa, sister Gayle (Turner) Sabol and brother-in-law Ed Sabol, and other in-laws Roger and Sandra (Testa) Hanks, Joe Smalley and Susan (Testa) Harding, John and Kim (Testa) Giannunzio, along with multiple nieces and nephews he loved so very much.
A service will be held at Richardson Funeral Home at 106 West St in Leominster on Tuesday, October 24, 3:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a celebration of life at 5:30pm at Il Forno Restaurant, 494 Electric Ave in Lunenburg.
