William J. Allen

LEOMINSTER ---William Joseph Allen, 79, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2024. He was born on May 29, 1944 to Joseph and Florence (Vilandry) Allen.

William moved to Leominster in 2007 from Templeton. He worked at James River Corporation in Fitchburg for many years. He later went on to work at Webber Lumber, and retired from Moore’s Lumber in Ayer. William was a member of St Francis of Assisi Church in Fitchburg, and the Fitchburg Lodge of Elks.

William was predeceased by his sister Lucille Woodruff and brother Alfred E. Allen. He is survived by his 5 children; Joseph D. and wife Karen of Templeton, Michael E. Allen and wife Jennifer of Leominster, Barbara Jean Bever of Spring, Texas, Dodielynn Huckaby and husband Lothar (deceased) of Lunenburg, and Shelley M. Saunders and husband Matthew of Templeton, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. William also leaves behind his former wife Cynthia Guy-Allen and his nephew Frances Guy (who he raised as his own) of Fitchburg.

All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Saturday, April 13 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Fitchburg. There will be no calling hours.
