Yvon Daniel Richard, born on September 12, 1964, died on April 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to the people and responsibilities that shaped his life.
He was a beloved husband, son, and father whose presence brought strength and warmth to his family. He is survived by his wife, Keli Richard, his son, Jonathan Richard, his daughter, Sarah Richard, and many other family members and friends who adored him. Yvon was a man who cared for people unconditionally, and those who knew him will remember not only his strong personality, but also the depth of his soul. He was confident and blunt, and he spoke his mind like no other. Even so, his honesty was matched by his kindness, and his direct nature was always grounded in sincerity and good intention.
Yvon was well loved by everyone who met him. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and appreciated, and his humor brought light to many difficult moments. He was known for his ability to make people laugh even in tough times, and his coworkers and friends valued him deeply for that gift. He was kind, friendly, and wise, and he carried those qualities with him in every part of his life.
His work at the Leominster Post Office was a defining part of his life. Yvon served as a mailman for 38 years, and he remained dedicated to his work no matter the time or weather. Even in his older years, his job could still rely on him, and if they called, he went. He took pride in showing up, doing the job, and doing it well. He was respected by his coworkers and formed many positive relationships throughout his years of service. He often walked around the post office saying, “I love my job,” and those words reflected the pride and commitment he brought to his work each day.
Outside of work, Yvon was always keeping busy. On his days off, he could often be found building something new for his garden, working on the Mustang in the garage that he refused to finish, or fixing problems around the house. He made sure things ran smoothly without being asked, and when something was requested of him, he did it and did it well. He had a practical mind and a steady hand, and he took care in making sure every task was done exactly as it needed to be. His actions showed his dedication, his pride, and his desire to provide for those around him.
Through all of his struggles and hard times, Yvon persevered. He never allowed anything to stop him from doing what he felt was necessary. His determination was one of his greatest qualities, and it carried him through challenges with courage and resolve. He faced life with a strong spirit and an unshakable sense of duty, and he remained true to himself in every season of life.
Yvon will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, his wisdom, and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was one of service, perseverance, humor, and love, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and strength to those who loved him most.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
