LEOMINSTER---Grace J. Hastings, 94, of 114B Arlington Street in Leominster, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2018. She is survived by her son Ernest Lausier (wife Joan), son-in-law Henry Connery III, daughter-in-law Karen Hastings, brother Ellery Corson, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James J. Hastings, daughter Rosemary Connery, step-sons Robert Hastings and Gerald Hastings and 5 siblings. To all her family and friends, she was simply “Amazing Grace”.

She was born October 25, 1923 in Wilton, ME, the daughter of Rena and William Corson, and graduated from Wilton, ME high school. Prior to moving to Leominster, she was a resident of Clinton, MA, waitressing over many years, including at the Maybarton, D’Olympios, Red Coach Grill, Mt. Pleasant Country Club and Bull Run. She was also employed at Rayovac and Eastern Isles. She particularly enjoyed and was adept at sewing., knitting and cooking, enticing all with her signature dish of baked stuffed lobster. It was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought true joy to her life.

Since moving to Leominster she was well cared for by her granddaughters Laurie Hume and Lisa Turnbull and her close friend Dottie Karkutt. In her final months she was lovingly tended to by the caregivers of the French Connection.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 1 pm at the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster, MA. Minister Kathy Fitzgibbons of Leicester, MA will officiate. Prior to the service, a calling hour from 12-1 pm will be held in the funeral home.
