LEOMINSTER---Georgette D. (Beauvais) Arbo, 88 years old of Leominster, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. She is survived by her son Derry G. Arbo and his wife Charlene of Fitchburg, sister Mona Fortier of Shrewsbury, brother Clarence Beauvais and his wife Vivian of Weslaco, TX, sister-in-law Doris Beauvais of Leominster, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Arbo in 1977 and by her brother Philip Beauvais in 2006.
Georgette was born October 24, 1928, daughter of George and Bernadette (LeClerc) Beauvais and lived in this area her entire life. She had polio as a child and was partially paralyzed, but that never kept her from seeking work. Unlike today it was difficult finding employment if you had a handicap. She considered herself fortunate to have a job at Foster Grant Company in the comb and sunglass departments, where she worked for many years. Georgette was a member of the Foster Grant 25 year club. She then worked at Kmart in Fitchburg, where she received the Employee of the Month Award. Georgette attended the NewLife Church in Leominster and the Lighthouse Church of God in Lunenburg. She could be seen reading her bible whenever you visited. She never failed to say grace at mealtime or pray that you have a safe journey home following your visit.
Georgette’s funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30th at 11 am in the NewLife Church, 384 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 29th from 4-7 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral home, 106 West Street, Leominster.
